We're stepping away from Roblox for the time being.
This is a message we never thought we'd have to write, but it is important to be honest with everyone involved with Eiffel Studios. For 6 years now, Roblox has been a big part of Eiffel Studios; it's what founded us. We've built games, shared awesome ideas, and made amazing memories with everyone on the platform. But at the current moment, we feel that stepping back for the time being is the right thing to do.
Over the past few weeks, the ROBLOX community has been rocked by serious issues, questions about safety, moderation, and the way the platform treats both creators and players. Most recently, Roblox banned and legally threatened Schlep, a creator who dedicated a lot of his time to expose and catch predators on the platform. Instead of being supported for making Roblox safer, he was silenced.
That moment, along with many other situations, has hit us hard. If Roblox cannot stand firmly and openly against those who prey on children, and instead pushes away those who try to help, then this isn't a place we can proudly call home right now. We don't want to pretend everything is fine when so many in the community are disgusted and hurt by Roblox's actions.
Why we're stepping away:
• Safety should come first. Right now, it doesn't feel like it does.
• Trust has been broken. We can't ignore how Roblox has handled all recent events.
• Our community deserves better. We want to focus on spaces where players feel safe, welcome, and protected.
What this means for Eiffel Studios:
• We're pausing all our Roblox projects and community presence for the time being.
• This does not mean forever. We will return to ROBLOX, but only if things change.
• In the meantime, we'll be focusing on our other services outside Roblox, where we can give you the experiences you deserve, with our safety.
This decision wasn't easy. Roblox gave us a place to grow, experiment, and connect. But right now, it doesn't feel right to keep pushing forward on the platform. We'll always care deeply about the amazing people we've met there, and we'll keep cheering on creators who are working for positive change.
For now, though, we're taking a step back until Roblox changes. And we do hope that soon, Roblox will be a space we can come back to, quickly and proudly.
With respect and care,
Amy Evergreen, Chief Operating Officer.
